Erwing Ericsson

In 1944, Erwing Ericsson embarked on a journey that would lay the foundation for a flourishing transportation business. He purchased a farm just outside Klippan, thus beginning the story of “Erwing Ericsson Åkeri.” Initially, the company’s primary focus was to transport agricultural products, serving the local farming community.

History

The history of CME Åkeri

1944

Erwing Ericsson purchases a farm outside Klippan and establishes "Erwing Ericsson Åkeri". The primary transportation involves agricultural products.

1980

Erwing's son, Christer, takes over the haulage company and changes the company's name to "Christer Ericssons Åkeri". Christer initiates a collaboration with "Klippanfrakt," today known as "Cliffton." The haulage company transitions from primarily transporting agricultural products to also transporting peat.

1988

The haulage company becomes the first in Sweden to utilize the "walking floor" technology. These are special platforms that make it easy to unload in narrow and low spaces commonly found in many gardening environments. This proved successful and became one of the reasons why we chose to specialize specifically in peat transportation.

1994

The collaboration with "Cliffton" concludes, and instead, a partnership with "Hasselfors Garden AB" is initiated, which remains a customer of the haulage company to this day.

2002

Erwing's grandson, Magnus, joins the company, prompting the expansion of the haulage fleet with an additional vehicle.

2015

"Christer Ericssons Åkeri" is renamed into CME Åkeri AB.

2020

"CME Åkeri AB" was taken over by Magnus and in connection with that the company was moved from Klippan to Örkelljunga because the farm Erwing bought in 1944 had space limitations. The company continues to conduct peat transportation, utilizing technologies like the "Walking Floor" to serve various producers within the peat industry. We also transport soil, clay, fertilizer, bark, and pallet transports. Today, the haulage company has four trucks and a total of six employees.
